123. Space12 3121 E. 12th St SPACE12 is a non-profit created by a group of Austinites who have seen the dramatic changes in Austin but at the expense of community gathering space. Our desire is to create spaces that build bridges toward community, encourage purposeful activity, and engage all of Austin into a unified discussion of how to live as neighbors rather than strangers. Through the collaboration of space, time, art, innovation, and voices, we can again reclaim spaces throughout the city for genuine community. We take steps toward these goals by providing a venue for conversation and implementation of ideas, establishing relationships within the Austin community, and listening to and providing a means for people to voice needs, concerns, and dreams. We believe art has a unique and integral part in creating community. We hope to connect with the East Austin artist community and provide a space to support East Austin artists. |
