135. Kendra Kinsey 3803 Tower View Ct I approach art by questioning polarities, by making and breaking connections between ideas considered to be opposites. I use the ideas of beautiful/ugly, interior/exterior, functional/decorative, and revealing/concealing to talk about our relationship to our bodies. I use fashion and beauty magazines to explore an alternate reality women live in, that affects our decision-making and self image. I approach most mediums with collage in mind. I like to synthesize ideas and merge disparate elements into images that incorporate pattern and flat color with realistic images or atmospheric space. |
