I question beauty and the lack of it by pairing the two in their iconic states and the standard of their measure. Ultimately popular culture is questioned. Celebrities rarely show us their true selves, it is always a different persona because they are acting or trying to create a particular character. The tabloids are trying to tell the truth about these people, but there is still a mask or mystery about them. The celebrities as measured by popular culture and the projection of beauty onto women by popular culture are portrayed in my compositions.
