Over the last couple of years, my main focus has been portraiture though with slightly more symbolism and distortion than in traditional realism. In addition to painting, I have recently been working in the art department of several films. This experience has led me to think more about the character, value, and even sacredness of objects. I’m now beginning some small studies of items I’ve collected with the hope of introducing them into my larger scale symbolic works. I am also very pleased to be co-hosting the In House Gallery at this year’s tour.
