24. Andrea Nelson 1306 E 6th St I combine my passion for writing with my passion for
painting. I write and draw on my paintings, creating layer upon layer
of drafts and revisions.
These layers in turn create a rich ground for the next layer of language
- simultaneously obfuscating and clarifying narratives, sometimes revealing
entire passages or deconstructing documents to the point where the
viewer can process only one letter at a time. This is, in part, an
exploration of the link between internal dialogue and external physical
manifestation. My studio, shared with two dogs and a goat, is located
behind my home in East Austin. |
